ABOUT ME

I'm a husband, father, and current Goshen School Board member. I was born in Goshen, but my life journey took me out and about before coming home again. I've lived in North Carolina, Texas, and spent time in Africa working with orphan care and sustainable agriculture. I've worked in church ministry, spent seven years as a finish carpenter, and run my own businesses. Those experiences taught me to think practically about complex problems and showed me what communities can accomplish when they focus on what actually works rather than what sounds good.
My wife Selam was born and raised in Ethiopia. She's a software engineer with a master's degree in Computer Science. Between us, we've learned what it means to build something from the ground up—whether that's a diverse family, a new business, or a life in a new country. Now we're raising three young kids here in Goshen and seeking to make a positive impact for everyone.
Today I work as a 3D designer for a marketing agency, creating visual content that helps businesses communicate clearly. That skill translates directly to my board work: taking complex information and making it accessible so people can make informed decisions. We attend Living Hope Christian Fellowship, and our faith shapes how we approach both family life and public service: with integrity, honesty, and a commitment to doing what's right even when it's difficult. I enjoy spending my free time listening to audiobooks that encourage my faith, grow and challenge my character, and give me insight into making a positive impact on the world around me.
I love good governance, sound policy, and learning the mechanisms that turn good intentions into actual results. I'm a Strong Towns advocate, which shapes how I think about sustainable community development and my school board work. I genuinely care about getting the structure and processes right so that our schools can do their best work for students.
I ran for school board because I believe our community deserves leadership that's transparent, accountable, and genuinely focused on students. Serving has deepened my commitment to public service and shown me how much effective local governance matters. That's what drives my work today.
